How do I create a valid waqf for my property in Muzaffarpur?

A waqf in Muzaffarpur is a permanent dedication of movable or immovable property for religious, charitable, or pious purposes recognised under Muslim law. The Patna High Court has held that a waqf must be perpetual and the property must be transferred to God with the settlor relinquishing ownership.

Under the Bihar Rent Control Act 2017 and the Waqf Act, the waqf must be registered with the state waqf board. A mutawalli is appointed to manage the waqf property and cannot alienate it without court permission.

The dedication can be oral or written and takes effect immediately. A waqf cannot be revoked once created.
